Bio of Dr. Mihnea Radu Muresanu
the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, part of USAMV Bucharest.The "School of veterinary learning" was founded by Dr. Carol
Davila more than 140 years ago, being the first of its kind in the Balkans.
The evolution of veterinary education in our school has closely mirrored the
history of scientific advances in the field of veterinary science throughout the
world, while also being influenced by the political and economic conditions of
Romanian society over the past 140 years. Today, our faculty - the alma mater of
Romanian veterinary science - has reached full maturity. We are an open, dynamic
faculty that consistently keeps pace with national and European advances in our
field.
The progressive spirit of all those who taught in the halls of our faculty received significant recognition in 2002, when, FMV Bucharest was granted official recognition by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education -
E.A.E.V.E.E.A.E.V.E. is the institution mandated by the European Commission to oversee the development of veterinary education.
This prestigious recognition places our faculty among the top 29 European faculties of veterinary medicine (out of a total of 96), and is the culmination of a period of ten years of accelerated development. However, it is by no means our intention to stop here. On the contrary, we have committed ourselves to continuously improving our standards, and we aim to reach and remain at the cutting edge of veterinary science.
